I was born and raised in Winnipeg, and am a graduate of the University of Manitoba. You can take the girl out of Winnipeg, but Winnipeg is definitely always with the girl! Since graduating with an MLIS from the University of Alberta, I have worked in public, school, and academic settings. I have keen interests in identifying active learning teaching methods and strategies used in K-12 settings to transform my own teaching. Other interests include supporting language learners, especially in settings where there is little opportunity for practice, and Hip Hop studies.
